Hi there, I'm Sydney Axelrod.

I grew up in Denver, Colorado and moved to Atlanta, GA after high school to attend Emory University. I was a Business Major with concentrations in Finance & Marketing, and a Visual Arts Minor. From a young age, I was a perfectionist and an overachiever and I put a lot of pressure on myself - can you relate? I graduated with a 3.9 GPA in the top 20% of - what was at the time - the #3 undergraduate business program in the country.

After graduation, I moved to Minneapolis, MN and started working straight away as a Business Analyst at Target Corporation. Within 3 years I was running a $1.3 Billion dollar business at Target, working with hundreds of partners, and influencing high level leadership.

I loved my experience at Target, but as I neared my fourth year, I knew it was time for my next chapter. However, with such a demanding work life, I didn't have the time or energy to dedicate to locking down my next career move. This led me to make a decision that seemed unthinkable at the time - to quit my job without WITHOUT A PLAN!

My intention of coming home for 3 months as I searched for a new job evolved into a year of travel, adventure and self-development. The transition out of the 'hamster wheel' led me to question everything about the way I defined my identity by my job title, my prior attachment to saving every penny, and what was really important to me.

I spent my year doing leadership and yogic philosophy workshops, painting, teaching yoga, traveling, and ultimately facing my fears and backpacking through Central and South America on my own. With my blonde hair & fair skin, humongous backpack, inability to speak Spanish, lack of a plan, and very worried Jewish mother at home, I took off on an amazing adventure. Full of obstacles and challenges, it turned out to be one of the greatest and most transformational experiences of my life. After this trip, I felt unstoppable.

My time off culminated with the decision to move to San Francisco. I was wide-eyed and excited to get a job more aligned with my passions of health and wellness. I moved to SF without a job in place, and immediately felt the pressure of being unemployed in an expensive city. I started to let my fear drive the bus, and I ended up with another job as a Buyer in Corporate Retail. I was deluded by the glamorous appeal of having an awesome title at one of the most beloved fashion brands in the world. But I was wrong.

The glass was shattered fairly immediately as I found myself working day in and day out in an extremely toxic work environment. I was not passionate about the work I was doing, I was burning myself out with unsustainable hours, and I was being bullied and undervalued every day by several levels of domineering male superiors. I quickly became a shell of a human - completely exhausted, hiding regular emotional breakdowns in a nearby sample closet, and having regular panic attacks. My weekends consisted of either shutting myself in due to severe bouts of anxiety, or partying my cares away.

A year later and desperate for guidance, I signed up for a two week Karma Yoga Leadership Intensive workshop in Nosara, Costa Rica with my favorite teacher in the world, Coby Kozlowski. It was here that I stopped thinking about what I should do next, and started entertaining the infinite possibilities that life has to offer. I knew there was more to life than panic attacks and paychecks, and I was finally ready to break past my self-imposed barriers. What would I do if I could do anything?

Without even realizing it, I had completed all of the pre-requisites for Coby's Life Coaching School. I didn't know much about Coaching, but I LOVED doing self-development work and I wanted to have a career that fulfilled me through service. I made a plan while I was there, and enacted it the moment I got back to SF. I collected my well-deserved bonus, quit my job, and set out on a quest to create a life that I love.

It took a while for me to recover from the damage I had done on my mental and physical health, but I grew ultra-committed to my calling. I became a Certified Life Coach, took courses in entrepreneurship, business coaching, mindset work, and health coaching, worked with a team of Doctors, Psychiatrists and Coaches, and developed and published my own Wildflower Deck of Affirmations & Simple Truths.

Today, I am following my heart and my calling and am creating the life of my dreams. I have my own Coaching business where I share my tools for empowerment, healing, and personal and professional growth with clients every day. I am wholeheartedly committed to my own growth, and to walking the walk. I believe that I have a unique perspective on coaching work that makes yogic philosophy, spirituality, and personal development accessible and applicable to high-achieving young professionals in Corporate America. I know how it feels to be lost, overwhelmed, insecure and unfulfilled. I don't feel that way anymore, and I want to support you in finding your own fulfillment and purpose. If you feel as though there is more to life - there is! You have a unique gift to bring to this planet, and you can learn to skillfully navigate all seasons of life, connect with your true self, and create a life you love.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is coaching?

Coaching is quickly becoming one of the leading tools successful people use to live extraordinary lives. Through coaching sessions, clients are empowered to identify what is most important to them and align their thoughts, words, and actions, accordingly. As your coach, I work with you to identify what you want personally and professionally and support you in achieving a life you really want and love. Having a life you love starts with gaining clarity on your values, enabling more meaningful choices and consistent action. Your commitment to your life through coaching offers a means for more balance, joy, intimacy, energy, financial abundance, focus and action in every area of your life.

How is Life Coaching different from therapy?

Coaching is more action-oriented and primarily focuses on the present and the future. As your coach I enable you to determine your own “answers” through the work done in our coaching partnership.

  • Focuses on “where are you now, and how did you get here?” →
your story, family of origin, etc.
  • Tends to focus on the mind

 Life Coaching:

  • Focuses on “where are you now, where do you want to go, and how do we get you there?” → Works around a belief that any unresolved issues from your past will actually show up in your life NOW. There is less focus on your past story.
  • Focuses on the 5 dimensions of the human being: the mind, the body, your breath, the nonjudgmental witness, and the part of you that connects to something greater than yourself.

Do Life Coaching and therapy work well together?

Absolutely!!! They are different modalities that are both amazing and work very well in conjunction with one another.

Do I need to be super spiritual?

I like to work with people who have some connection to something greater than themselves, but that can be anything! If you are fairly new to this world of spirituality and coaching, that’s cool too. Because of my background, I like to weave together the philosophical yogic concepts with a more practical day to day application for the driven young professional.

What is the time commitment?

Our coaching sessions will be up to an hour, 3x per month. Outside of coaching, we can work together to co-create a plan that works for you to integrate into your schedule. The more you put into this 4 months, the more you will get out of it – but that doesn’t necessarily mean in time put in. I believe that just because you are working hard, doesn’t mean what you are doing is working. My intention is to keep this program simple and accessible for someone with a busy life.

If you were on a boat, and the captain changed direction by just 1 degree, what would happen? You would end up in an entirely different destination. That is what we will do together. We will work in 1 degree shifts into the way you live your life, and it will make all the difference in the end.

Why four months?

Often times, when you say YES to investing in yourself and following your heart, that is when the self-saboteur steps in and tries to maintain the status quo. I believe that resistance is actually a healthy indicator of where we can go deeper in our work. AND, it is almost guaranteed to show up. A 4 month commitment allows us enough time to develop a relationship of trust and ride the waves of transformation (excitement, growth and resistance). It’s also enough time to implement lasting changes in your life.

Why do I need a coach? Why can’t I do this on my own?

There is some reason why you haven't done it yet. Human beings crave connection and support. We are all in this together, and it’s hard (if not impossible) to do it all on your own. We all have blind spots, things we are unable to see within ourselves. One of my jobs as a coach is to shine light on your blind spots, in addition to providing guidance, a safe space, and a unique perspective.

Another key benefit of a coach is the accountability factor. How many times have you set new year's resolutions and have fallen off the wagon by February? Accountability is IMPERATIVE for consistency and follow through. In the past, I never asked for help, and now I legit have a TEAM of friends, Coaches, Therapists, Doctors, etc who support me in different ways and their support is INVALUABLE!!!! I can’t imagine any other way.

Who works with a coach?

Entrepreneurs, business owners, professionals, and people in transition are some of the people who typically work with a coach. Most commonly they are successful, resourceful and intelligent individuals who want to get even more out of their lives.

What professional athlete hasn’t used a coach to win? Olympians are some of the best athletes and yet they still understand the value that comes from having someone work directly with them, someone to point out the things they can’t see, someone to keep encouraging and challenging them to achieve their greatest potential. That’s who I am for you. Coaching is like having a personal trainer for your life!

You are pretty young, how can you be a life coach?

As a Life Coach, I absolutely don’t proclaim to know everything about life. What I do know is that I am DEEPLY committed, passionate and inspired to do the work day in and day out.

This is YOUR LIFE. You will NEVER have this exact moment ever again.

Listen to that voice deep down that is telling you “there has to be more for me!”
If that voice is in you – that means THERE IS SO MUCH MORE! The possibilities are infinite.

You deserve all the love, abundance, wealth, and fulfillment in the world. You deserve to invest in yourself. You are worth it!!!
